Warren Buffett – Berkshire Hathaway

Warren Buffet

My favorite quote this month comes from the “Oracle of Omaha” and legendary investor, Warren Buffett. Warren Buffett is arguably one of the greatest investors of all time. He is called “The Oracle of Omaha” because his investment picks and comments on the market are very closely followed by the investment community, and he lives and works in Omaha, Nebraska.

Warren Buffet Quote

Having started out as a financial advisor at the ripe old age of 20, and then spending the last 30 years speaking up to 220 days a year to financial advisors all over the US and Canada, I thought this quote was absolutely spot on. Not only is it pretty darn funny, but there is so much truth behind it as well. I loved it and hope you do as well.

  1. Stephen,

When people are on their way up, they spend so much time attempting to impress others. But those who have made it are more often unpretentious and more practical. However, I am sure there are many wall street leaders who take limos instead of the subway. But they probably tend to be much more frugal in their everyday expenditures than those who are busy trying to impress others to get clients and dates.

    Warmly,

    Dr. Erica

    • True, Dr. Erica, lots of people do gt their heads filled up with their own importance on the way up. I’ve known a good number of very wealthy people and you are right, many of them are in fact, quite frugal in everyday life.

  2. Stephen,

That quote is spot on. Being a native New Yorker and have worked on Wall Street decades ago before becoming an entrepreneur, I get it! It’s so true I had to just laugh.

    Thanks,

    -Donna

  3. I’m a huge lover of quotes Stephen and stand in awe of those who can say in a few words what the rest of us might take twenty to say. I always love the irony of Warren Buffet. He injects a bit of fun into life.
